Eric Shaffer, DMQ (China), is an independent, authorized qigong and medical qigong teacher, and provider of Chinese Medical Qigong Energetic Therapy as taught in the International Institute of Medical Qigong (IIMQ).

The views on this site are those of Eric Shaffer, DMQ (China), expressed independently of the official IIMQ web site at www.medicalqigong.org.

The practice of Complementary medicine as expressed by Eric Shaffer, DMQ (China) (of Medical Qigong Therapy) supports the care of the client's existing licensed medical and/or therapeutic caregiver (naturopath, physician, psychiatrist, therapist, or acupuncturist, etc.).

Like any other system of health care, medical qigong is not a panacea. It is a highly effective health care practice in accord with the principles and theories of Chinese medicione. The medical qigong exercises, meditations, and prescriptions described herein and utilized by Eric Shaffer, DMQ (China) are currently practiced within Chinese government hospitals, medical universities, and clinics within The Peoples Republic of China.

The qigong exercises taught, and medical qigong methods offered in the care of health challenges, or "syndromes" as understood in Chinese medicine can be powerful and expedient. In some cases they may be too mentally and physically demanding for some individuals. Readers and prospective clients should therefore not only use their own discretion, but also consult a qualified doctor of Medical Qigong therapy, an acupuncturist, medical doctor, psychiatrist, and/or mental health professional before engaging in these exercises and meditations.

Eric Shaffer, DMQ (China) and other approved practitioners and faculty members of the International Institute of Medical Qigong (IIMQ) treat "syndromes as identified within Chinese Medical Theory". We do not claim to "treat illnesses" as identified in the Western tradition of allopathic medicine.

We are neither liable for, nor responsible to any person or entity with respect to any loss or damage caused, or alleged to be caused, directly or indirectly by reading or following instructions for any syndrome within Chinese Medicine, or interpreting information provided in this text.

The treatments mentioned in this web site are meant to be given by a medical qigong practitioner currently authorized and qualified by the IIMQ. The treatment of specific organs, channels, channel points, and prescriptions must always be selected based on the thorough understanding of the origin of the patient¹s disease.

If an ailment is severe, or if symptoms persist, please consult a medical professional immediately.
